2020 ERHARDT Convention
ERHARDT, operating on the Maritime & Logistics Services, Steel & Trading, Information Technologies and Risk & Assurance Management markets, held its Annual Convention under the slogan “WALK THE TALK” in Bilbao on 13 and 14 February.
Eugenio Erhardt, the company’s chairman, opened the convention and the CEOs of the group’s four divisions took stock of 2019 and unveiled the major work lines and new projects for 2020.
On the second day, the convention was also open to customers, suppliers and partners. Two new projects were presented: NYMIZ, the group’s new technological start-up, and the Di-Offer project (as part of the ERHARDT-UP initiative).
Two round tables were also held. During the first, Koldo Atxutegi, General Manager for Territorial Marketing, and Asier Alea, Director of Strategic Projects of Bizkaia Provincial Council, unveiled the BISCAY STARTUP BAY initiative, the entrepreneurial centre destined to be one of the most important innovation hubs in southern Europe.
During the second round table, Pablo Burgos, CEO of Solarpack, Ignacio González, CEO of Nueva Pescanova; Javier Ormazabal, CEO of Velatia, and Josep Vilaseca, CEO of Celsa France, shared their views and experiences regarding “Innovating today in the company”, the panel moderated by Lola Elejalde, Foresight Director at Innobasque – Basque Innovation Agency-.
Over the two days, the three major trends of the current social and economic climate were highlighted and where ERHARDT is actively working: the shift from a traditional economy to a digital economy; hybridisation in businesses due to data convergence, the integration of different knowledge disciplines and replacing traditional production methods; and the legitimate concern about climate change which is already modifying the current production model, a trend that has now become the hallmark of people and organisations.
